Great Sunday

Our Sunday started this morning getting our food finalized to take for our church Friend and Family Day lunch. Then off to church where I was blessed to have children's church duing the morning service. After a great lunch, I really enjoyed the music presented by the Shiloh's in our afternoon service:
We were able to get home and take a short afternoon nap before we headed to the ball park to enjoy the first baseball game of the season where Reagan was the starting pitcher:

He did a great job pitching. At bat, he had 2 singles, 1 RBI and scored 2 runs: His number #1 fan, his mom, sat on the opposing team's side to socialize and stay warm cause their bleachers were in the sun:

After the game, we went to Parton's Pizza to enjoy some yummy pizza and fun:

All in all it was a great Sunday.

Saturday Fun - Dr Pepper Style

Our Saturday was scheduled for 10, 2 & 4 (ok 4:30) but close enough. Some of you might not remember the Dr Pepper commercials and the times: 10, 2 & 4 but my older readers will. We started our activities by being at the church at 10:00 to set up for our Friend & Family Day tomorrow:After we finished at the church, Uncle D had a voice mail that our 2:00 activity, a baseball game had been rescheduled to 5:00 tomorrow. It is supposed to be much warmer than today, so we were glad for the change. We headed home, and started making food for tomorrow's lunch at church. Then about 4:00 headed over to my brother's house for a little family time with my Uncle Will who is visiting from Carlsbad, NM. He, his daughter and grandson came over to visit with us:

Alicia & Uncle Will

Samuel - the grandson

We had a good time but my brother and his grandson, Brody, were exhausted from all the activity:

Mammaw's Potato Salad

For my company that visited in the last two weeks, I had bought potatoes but never had to opportunity to cook them. My company is gone and I was left with these potatoes. Uncle D and I are not big potato eaters. So today, in an effort not be wasteful, I attempted to recreate my mom's potato salad. She never had a recipe that I knew of, she would just throw the ingredients together. The only person that I knew that had attempted to make this potato salad was my niece, Marcy, so I called her this morning to verify the ingredients. If I say so myself, I think it turned out OK. Maybe, not as good as mom's but close. Now, if I could just learn to make her banana pudding, I think I would have arrived.

Missouri comes to Texas - Day 4

Today was a lazy day with a little shopping thrown in. Missouri friends left this evening to go visit other friends tonight and all day tomorrow. They will be back tomorrow evening to spend the night, go to church Sunday and then head home. It has been a great time of fun and girl time. Today was my friend and her husband's birthday. Wow, marrying a birthday buddy. Thanks Larry for sharing Rhonda with the Texas friends on your birthday.

Family Togetherness

My great niece was visiting this week for her spring break and last night her aunt had the family over for a little fun:
It was the first big family event that Brody attended. Everyone was fighting to hold him but this was one of the most precious times when his cousin Ben (who loves him dearly) got his turn:
Nanny brought easter eggs filled with candy for a practice run of the upcoming easter egg hunts next month:

And of course there was a little basketball to be played by the guys:

We did do a family picture of Ronnie's crew since they added a new member:

All in all it was a great time with family. Thanks Neesie for your great hospitality.

Happy Birthday

Three of my favorite people are having birthdays today and I wanted to wish them a very Happy Birthday.

Missouri comes to Texas - Day 3

This morning we just hung out at home and started our day with friends this afternoon. We headed out for the teenagers to enjoy a little:

When Daniel was attempting to lap/pass Callie, he "accidentally" tapped her causing a little spin out: I left to go have a little family togetherness and they continued their fun:

After all this fun, they enjoyed dinner at Spring Creek which of course we all know is yummy.

Missouri comes to Texas - Day 2

Today was a day of visiting friends. One of our friends even baked us a yummy chocolate pie:
But before we enjoyed the pie, Missouri shared pictures of home & family. How time changes things, last visit we were looking at pictures in albums, this visit on her laptop:

We shared a nice lunch and fellowship and then off to visit another of Missouri's friends:

We went to church tonight where Missouri saw several other friends and then off to Chick-Fil-a for a little more fellowship. Now we are home, enjoying a little wi-fi time before bed.

Uncle D and 2 of His Close Friends.

Spring Break

One of my BFF is visiting from Missouri with her daughter. We'll be hanging out having some quality girl time this week. Ya'll think about poor Uncle D with all these women in the house.

Awww, Aren't they too cute

Family Visits

Last week, Uncle D's baby sister and family were in town and dropped in for a while. We were able to play a little Wii:

They'll be back in a couple of weeks to visit again during their kid's spring break.

Early Birthday Greetings

Someone will be having a Birthday tomorrow:
She has grown into a beautiful young lady who loves the Lord, her family and life. Though I don't see her as often as I would like, she is a great joy to everyone who knows her.

Happy Early Birthday Cayley!!! We love you.

Pulling a Deneise

Now isn't he about the cutest 3 week old that you've seen this week:

I think his mommy & daddy are being very good to him, look at those chubby cheeks. You just want to love him. Thanks for posting such cute pictures for us to enjoy and steal.

Civic Duty

I did my civic duty today and donated a pint of blood. The blood center is very good to call & remind & call & remind & call & remind that it is time to make another donation. To get the calls to stop for six weeks, I go give blood. I am now working on getting a 4 gallon pin. The worst part of giving blood is the finger stick they do to check my iron level. After giving blood, Uncle D & I had planned to use our last Christmas gift card at Outback Steakhouse but were greatly disappointed that they didn't open for another couple of hours. We settled for a yummy lunch at Black Eyed Pea. After lunch we made our weekly trip to Sams and we were both so full, we didn't even taste one sample and that is history.
